There was a time when I could not see beyond my sadness and despair, a time when I couldn’t imagine trying to attain my lost aspirations. I’ve written a book called From My Lips To God’s Ears: Second Edition which is a fusion of my heritage and a recollection of the life-altering event that held me captive for more than three decades. Initially I wrote the book as a self-help tool with no intentions of publishing it. However, on the advice of others, my book has followed a very different path. It is the heart-breaking story of cruelty and total disregard for a young girl’s life. Because of the atrocity I experienced at the hands of someone I knew and trusted, my life as I had known it was totally shattered and destroyed. I fell into a negative mindset that spiraled out of control. Fortunately, through a spiritual awakening. I came to understand that forgiveness and love were the two keys essential to finding my way back to the life I once looked forward to with confidence.
